Recent discoveries include:
Marrakesh - We went there for the first time as part of a wedding reception. Take an appetite (5 courses or so) and clothes you don't mind getting dirty (a lot of eating with your hands). It wouldn't hurt to stretch beforehand either, as seating is low. But it was totally worth it. =) [Not recommended for vegetarians... at all.]
Le Pichet - It's just like being back in France. Ideal for a light lunch or brunch... we grabbed sandwiches to go the other day and it totally hit the spot. And the people here are great.
Steelhead Diner - The current FAV. Sit at the kitchen counter for the best experience (and sometimes free fried curds, which are amazing). Everything here tastes fresh and real, and very very yummy. It's a greasy spoon done North West style.

New Idea
So in an attempt to keep good notes on all of the great places we've been going in Seattle we are going to start posting our reviews and comments, favorites dishes and drinks, etc, etc on our blog. Here's a quick intro on some of the places we've already discovered in Belltown:
Belltown Pizza - Quintessential beer and pizza kind of place. Nice thin crusts with yummy toppings in a casual (and sort of small) bar environment.
Black Bottle - Great small plates/family style eatery (but not family friendly... our sister couldn't bring her baby in). Go here on a double date and get 4 dishes and a bottle of wine to share and you're set. The blasted broccoli is a favorite, as are the flatbreads. Each plate is about $8 or $9. (We don't generally recommend the desserts, though, except maybe the banana flambe.)
Belltown Bistro - AMAZING desserts (for sharing). Good place to chat with a small group as the booths have nice high backs and it's never that rowdy.

Really, REALLY bad
Um, yeah, so at this point I'm sure no one is even reading this thing since we never post anything, so for the moment I guess we'll just chuck it. Once we get pregnant we'll start things up again to keep people posted on the happenings. How does that sound? =)

Man we're bad at this
So... obviously we aren't doing too well. Most of you probably already know all of this, but here is what we wrote in our Christmas card so that I can quickly get you up to date. I SWEAR we'll write more later... honest.
------------------------------------------------------
There have been a few milestones since last Christmas; we celebrated/survived our one year anniversary, we bought a condo, DJ became an uncle, and I officially started my own business. As it happens the anniversary and condo purchase overlapped, so in light of the stresses we were going through in the home department we decided to get out of the house and get pampered for our anniversary. A trip to the Woodmark hotel and spa, and dinner and Les Mis, were precisely what the doctor ordered and is a treatment I would recommend to anyone. The condo itself isn’t half bad either. With the help of our friend and realtor we managed to score a 1 bed and den, 1.5 bath, 950 square foot condo in the heart of Belltown. While it’s been 6 months and we still don’t have the office fully organized, we certainly feel right at home and intend to stay put for at least a few years.
DJ’s domestication was quite possibly helped along by his becoming an uncle to Eily Brona Trimm on August 19, 2006. She is, of course, incredibly cute, but still not enough to prompt us to start having our own just yet, so we have some time still to organize that office before we have to turn around and make it a nursery. Working full time and starting my own business on the side doesn’t leave me much time to consider becoming a mother at present either. I have had a few very gracious friends allow me to meddle in their marriages so that I can gain experience for my wedding photography and planning (and if you know anyone else who wouldn’t mind, let me know). ; )
All in all we have been incredibly blessed.
